Newborn Photo Session in Chino Hills Baby's First Christmas

I absolutely adore taking holiday photos of newborns that capture the spirit of the season.

Little ones grow up fast and there's nothing quite like the magic of the holiday season. When you see your little one light up at the twinkle of a sparkly light, you know they can feel it, too.

Capturing this special time was so important to her parents because it was her first Christmas. This is a milestone moment for both child and parent, and it's the perfect reason to schedule holiday photos.

The pictures captured are sure to become cherished keepsakes for you and your family that you can adore every holiday for years to come. Use the photographs for holiday cards and bring cheer to family near and far. You might also consider ordering some personalized photography gifts that will have deep meaning for loved ones. And don't forget to get an ornament featuring your favorite image to honor baby's first Christmas on the tree!

Faith Photography is an expert at working with infants, but you can also take a few proactive steps to ensure you have a successful session:

  1. Schedule your session around nap and feeding times. When baby is well-rested and fed, photography sessions tend to go smoothly and result in more high-quality images.
  2. To help with any fussiness, keep your home warm, feed and diaper change right before I arrive, and have that pacifier ready.
  3. Go simple for clothing as I will bring outfits and props.
  4. Last but not least, RELAX!

Baby's first holiday is a special time that deserves to be captured in quality photographs.

Mini Session Holiday Photo Session in Chino Hills The Holidays are in full swing over here at Faith Photography!

Sometimes, it just takes a gleeful greeting or some cheesy Christmas cheer to get you excited for the holidays. For me, it's photographing and capturing beautiful moments like these during this holiday season... so, I'm a little jolly!!!

Family portraits make great gifts for the upcoming holidays. Prints, wall art, calendars, mugs, etc. are always a hit. Photo gifts are listed as a “Best Christmas Present for Grandparents” every year. You can even use your family portrait images for holiday cards- without having to deal with the lines at the miserable photo place in a mall.

Wishing each and every one of you and your family a wonderful holiday season!

Check back next year to schedule your Holiday Mini Photo Session

Reasons You Don't Want to Skip Over Maternity Photo Session  Reasons You Don't Want To Skip Over Having A Maternity Photo Session

Whether you're on your first or your fifth, pregnancy is always a unique and beautiful experience.

Every time has its special memories, varying milestones and sometimes, symptoms. And while this is often a time of great joy and anticipation, it can also be a tad uncomfortable as your body changes and you do the hard work of developing a new life!

Because pregnancy can become increasingly uncomfortable and cumbersome toward the end, it’s easy to pass up on maternity pictures, especially if you’re not head over heels with your full-term baby bump.

However, passing up on maternity pictures is by far the number one regret I hear from my newborn and children’s photography clients. After all, hindsight is 20/20, and while you might be intensely camera-shy during your last trimester, the mama you’ll become is going to yearn for looking back on that special moment in time, and here’s why…

To look back on this season for strength.

Motherhood is easily one of life’s greatest adventures, but it can also be filled with our biggest trials. Sleepless nights, tears and tantrums, there are countless moments you’ll feel like you’re nearing the end of your rope.

But, you’re a “Mom,” and that means you can handle anything your littles throw your way, but even with that in mind, sometimes it’s nice to have a visual reminder of your strength and that you’re capable of doing miraculous and difficult feats.

And what a better reminder than the magical time right before your motherhood journey began?

Your baby’s going to want to look back on these moments, too.

Of course, your baby won’t understand the significance of these photographs for some time to come, but that’s precisely the point…your maternity photos are timeless. They’re keepsakes not just for you, but for your baby (and they’ll always be your baby no matter how old they are) who will undoubtedly want to see what their mama looked like before they made their grand entrance into the world.

To feel beautiful

Maybe you’re someone who has felt gorgeous during every stage of pregnancy, or perhaps you found yourself nodding in agreement when I mentioned feeling uncomfortable and less-than-in-love with your ever growing baby bump.

No matter where you fall, every mama-to-be indeed is beautiful whether you feel it or not. If you do happen to love your gorgeous glow, then you’re likely going to want to capture it on camera, but if not, I’d argue that having maternity photos taken will be just the thing you need to see and embrace your beauty during this stage of motherhood.

You certainly wouldn’t be the first mama-to-be who I’ve heard exclaim “I look beautiful!“ in shock and awe…sometimes seeing that beauty just takes another perspective (along with an outfit you can’t help but feel glamorous in)!

Sooooooo, embrace and capture these moments before your family grows...

Finally, a maternity session is one of the best ways to capture the time with your family as it exists right at this moment whether that means it’s just you, just you and your significant other, or with your kiddos before they become big brothers and sisters.

A maternity session gives you the opportunity to capture not just your growth in motherhood (literally), but also the growth of your family.

There’s something to be said about freezing a moment in time that you can revisit for years and lifetimes to come.

Chino Hills Maternity Photo Session Can this Maternity Photo Session get any prettier?

Chino Hills Maternity Photo Session

One of my favorite parts of being a maternity and newborn photographer is meeting new parents and hearing about their journey into parenthood.

I met Ashley and her sweet, little girl on a hot Sunday afternoon for Ashley's Maternity session out in Chino Hills (my secret spot).  Her session was so much fun and the love between this mommy and daughter (big sister to be) shined bright (just like the golden hour light we had for her session and the colorful smoke bombs).

Here are a few of my favorite photos from her dreamy maternity session.

Congratulations Emma!

Emma's session was absolutely gorgeous!  Her outfits were classic and definitely made her session pop!  You would never have guessed this was her first photo session.  She was happy and carefree just in time for her graduation.

No only did her cute smile and twinkling eyes make her mom tear up, they made me tear up too.
Shoot for the moon.  Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars... Unknown

Birthday Cake Smash in Chino Hills What's all the frenzy about????  Why, Cake smash sessions of course!

Parents want to capture their child's first experience eating their birthday cake, which can be quite entertaining and definitely FUN to capture!  I've found that some babies dig right in, while others are more cautious and not as comfortable getting messy. It's adorable to see how these little ones will respond.  Each baby is so different!  I love working with babies and especially look forward to these cake smash sessions!

I can start off by capturing images of them in mom's favorite outfit or two or I can snap away, at the start, with them in their "birthday suit" which is darling, then we finish with the cake smash photos.

Here are a few I was honored to capture last weekend!  You'll be tickled pink, lol

It's that time of year!  Yep, Holiday Family Photo Session Time!

I thought it would be very helpful to blog about helping kids prepare for your photo session with me.

1.  Talk about it as a family and don't spring it on them unexpectedly. Why? Because this will give you time to address any apprehensions or questions your family may have. Have a family meeting and show them family photography images.

2. Explain to your kids why it's important to you to have family photos done. Talk about the feeling you get seeing the family all together and having those photos displayed throughout your home.

3. Let your kids help pick out their outfits or with the process. This will help them feel that their input is needed and important to the success of the photo session.

4. On your session day have a laid back schedule and plan naps accordingly so that younger kids are well rested. Avoid overscheduling your day with other commitments that could jeopardize your mood and your punctuality. Plan a fun dinner or ice cream for the family after the shoot to cap off the day.

5.  Moms, Lead By Example. On photo day try to lead the family in terms of attitude. Relax and have fun and encourage everyone to do the same. Sometimes all it takes for a session to go well is for a parent to have a positive attitude.

A Baby Feels A Place In Your Heart Sweet little Slater Wyld was just 10 days old during his photography session. Would you believe he was an absolute angel to work with? Because he was! He was so tiny and perfect, and he practically fit in the palm of my hand. But I had an amazing time doing his newborn photography session. I believe the sweetness of Slater Wyld is what makes my work as an infant and newborn photographer so incredible. I had no trouble keeping him comfortable and he barely made a peep as I took picture after amazing picture during his photography session. I can’t wait to have another baby photography session with sweet little Slater Wyld when he’s older, and maybe even a maternity photography session if his mommy and daddy give him a little sister or brother! If you find Slater Wyld's newborn photography session as joyful as I do, and you want to find an incredible Inland Empire or Orange County newborn photographer, I would be honored to create lasting memories through a newborn photography or baby photography session. Visit me on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram to see more of my newborn photography and family photography skills, or contact me today at (949) 677-4717. You can also email me at

Maternity Photo Session You guys! This is my third BLOG. I've really tried to prioritize, & blogging has been high up on that list-- not sure if anyone really looks/reads this blog to begin with, but I really enjoy being able to talk about sessions, & give a bit more of an in depth look at what a maternity session with me looks like!

Matt and Krysta contacted me because she wanted a maternity session that reflected her idea for her soon-to-be baby boy baseball theme.

I love being able to capture my clients ideas and bringing them to life.  There are so many feelings that a soon to be mama experiences right before giving birth-- excitement, anxiety, happiness, nostalgia-- I want to capture it all!  Dad was all about letting Mama shine.  I love watching Dad's gaze at their beautiful wife during their solo portion of the session, you can really see the love and admiration they hold for their significant others!

Crushing on this Engagement Photo Session Swinging in La JollaSwinging in La Jolla Beautiful Engagement RingBeautiful Engagement Ring

Insanely sweet, adorable and spirited; this engagement shoot is the perfect match for this couple.  I photographed these cuties in the scenic and stunning La Jolla secret swings location, among trees, rocks, flowers, the sun and their endless smiles, making this an engagement session I'll be crushing on for days to come!

Taryn and Jason wanted an engagement session tailored to their silly personalities and outdoor spirits.  We drove to La Jolla, CA to find the "secret swings" surrounded by tall trees, rocks, flowers, cactus, and the shining sun.  It was such a fun afternoon exploring with these two love birds!

After their photo session, to celebrate, we even had a couple of beers together at one of San Diego's local breweries.

Cheers to Taryn and Jason!!!

What to Wear by Faith Photography Simple Walk Thru of Looking Your Best for Pictures

Beautiful Young Family Portrait OutdoorsBeautiful Young Family Portrait OutdoorsFamily portrait with fall leaves wearing blue, white and jeans

I know a lot of people have a hard time coming up with good, solid wardrobe choices for family photography. It’s stressful sometimes, but it doesn’t have to be!

1. Steer clear of fluorescents. Fluorescent colors tend to color cast on faces, necks and hair. They’re harsh sometimes. I always recommend versions of primary colors. Yellow (mustard), red (maroon, brick), and blue (navy, royal).

2. Stay away from wearing a lot of green when having photos taken in grassy/wooded areas. It’s just too much green. Green as an accent color is great, though! You want to stand out amongst all the greenery you’re surrounded by.

3. To get the flow going with wardrobe for your family, start with one outfit that you really like. From there, build from it for everyone else.

4. Wear what you feel good in! Moms and dads, this tip is for you specifically. If you aren’t comfortable in what you’ve chosen for pictures, it will show. If you can’t find a dress you feel good in, but you rock a good pair of skinny jeans, do that. If you can barely walk in heels, there’s no harm in doing cute and comfy flat boots or pretty sandals. If you can’t do a heel (like me), a wedge is a great alternative, too.

5. Layer, layer layer! Layers add dimension and depth. In the summer? Layer your dress with a cute belt and pendant necklace. In the fall and winter? cardigans, belts, statement necklaces, scarves, hats, blazers, etc.

6. Purchase clothes to fit. And fit well. I know we all have a hard time buying clothes for our kiddos that don’t leave a lot of room for growth, seeing as they do grow so fast. However, keep in mind that for pictures, too large of a polo shirt, saggy ill-fitting jeans or a jacket that’s falling off the shoulders looks sloppy. You’ll be purchasing outfits specifically for pictures, most likely, so choose something that fits perfectly, or even just a little bit snug. Make it look almost tailored. Go a size smaller in jackets, cardigans or blazers. A too-big jean jacket will not compliment shape. It hides hips and waist for moms. If you typically wear a size medium jacket, try on the small. Even if it’s just a little snug in the shoulders, it should lay nicely around your hips and waist, creating a tailored look.

7. Matching is out. Coordinating is in. And anything goes nowadays! I know your family is together. I am photographing you together! So, wearing the same colored shirt, pants, shoes, etc. looks a bit awkward. Coordinating color is what really brings wardrobe together. I usually choose two to three main colors of wardrobe, and maybe one accent pop of color. Also, mixing stripes with plaids and tweeds is okay! Expression is important. I want to see your personality through your wardrobe.

8. Minimal wardrobe for newborn sessions. The times I recommend clients keep wardrobe super simple is during newborn photos. In these cases, you don’t want the clothing to overshadow the precious little person that we’re showcasing. I recommend grey, black, and white for these shoots. If we’ll be posing a big sister with the baby, light pink is a good color that adds a little something, but again, it’s not enough to overpower the baby.

9. Dress for the weather, and be flexible. Be prepared to be flexible with wardrobe, in case you have to switch it up last minute. If you have plans for a cute sundress for your daughter, and the weather ends up being 20 degrees colder than you were anticipating, switch it up a bit by adding layers. Tights, boots, scarf, slouchy hat, cardigan. Dress appropriately for the weather that day, even if it doesn’t go with your original plan. If your child is sweating profusely in a sweater during his shoot, he/she won’t be happy. And on the same token, if your child is wearing a tank dress and the weather dips too much in the evening, she’ll be a grump, and it’ll reflect in the final images. I speak these words from experience. There are a couple of instances I can think of that I should have taken this advice with my own kids!

Styling Do’s and Don’ts

1. Choose a color scheme.  I would suggest choosing three main colors to work with.  This will give you more flexibility when it comes to dressing the entire family.  It will also really make your pictures pop!  You want to coordinate, NOT match.  By this, I mean choose the color(s) you want to work with and find different pieces that incorporate some or all of the colors you’ve chosen.   I do not want to find out that you sent out a memo saying “Everyone wear jeans and a white shirt” and call it a day.  White tops generally wash people out in photos, so I suggest staying away from white altogether unless it’s just an accent color.  Also, keep in mind that not every person has to have on every color you have chosen.  Split the colors up.  It makes the photo more playful and less uniform.

2. Find a focal point.  When you begin your shopping, look for a patterned piece that you simply cannot live without!  This may be a top that you feel absolutely fabulous in, or a plaid button up for your son that will make your heart melt, or maybe even an adorable little floral print dress for your little princess.  Whatever that piece may be, commit to it and work from there.  It’s natural for me to find the mother’s outfit first.  As moms, we tend to forget about ourselves in the planning and we become an afterthought.  Of course you want your kids to look cute, but you deserve to look and FEEL awesome in your pictures!  Trust me.  Take that time for YOU.  You won’t regret it!!

3. Mix it up.  Do not be afraid to mix prints and textures.  Or styles for that matter!  For example:  You could choose a piece with polka dots and a piece with stripes.  You could put a denim top with a corduroy pant.  Your prints and textures don’t always have to come from your main pieces.  You can jazz up a dress with printed or textured tights.  Or dress up a t-shirt with colored or patterned suspenders.  From here, you can go a step further and start mixing “styles.”  For example, I might have a client wear a plaid button up, a blazer and a beanie (mixing dressy and grunge) or a short a-line skirt, blousy top, and military style boots (mixing edgy and chic).  By doing so, you will begin to showcase the different styles and personalities of each member of the shoot.

4. Layers, layers, layers!!!  When putting together an outfit, layers are what make the outfit look polished and complete!  Add a vest, jacket, cardigan, bowtie, hat, scarf, suspenders, belt, jewelry, etc.  This also gives the shoot much more depth! Even if it’s just as simple as adding a little fur vest, it adds so much more dimension to your wardrobe. Vests can be found everywhere, but specifically I’m finding them at H&M, Gap and Old Navy right now. Also, if all else fails in chain stores, search Etsy has everything!

5. Play on your strengths.  Ladies (& gentlemen), let’s be honest…most of us have some insecurities about our bodies.  But, my best advice to you is to WORK what you’ve got!  Know your body type and what styles will flatter your figure.  If you like your legs, show them off!  If you think you’ve lost your waist, try a high waisted pant or a tailored blazer.  Any shoe with a higher heel will elongate your body and instantly make you appear thinner.  Do your research!

You obviously want to feel comfortable and confident, but try to push yourself outside the box.  Perhaps you should try on something you wouldn’t normally take off the rack.  It may be a complete disaster, but you may also find a new love!  We all know that fashion is a form of self-expression, so just be the best, most flattering version of you!

I really truly hope that this has helped! I had a blast putting it together for you, so thank you so much for taking the time to read and share it.

The Reason Behind My Choosing To Be A Photographer by Faith Photography FIRST BLOG

FINALLY!!!  Welcome to my B to the L to the O to the G!  I am excited!  Here I hope to post why I chose to become a professional photographer.  I also hope to share a little personal side of myself so you have an understanding of who I am and what matters most to me.  I hope you enjoy!

My love for photography started at a young age.  I recall at the age of 11, my mom hired a professional photographer to shoot some pictures of my family.  I remember watching this big, man photographer and thinking how neat his job was.  I also remember him asking me to pose and swing my long, brown hair around so he could capture something unique (what would have been unique to him back in 1978) and when I saw that picture I was so giddy.   I also recall, when I was in 6th grade now at the age of 12, asking my mom to buy me a camera because I NEEDED to take pictures of my friends at my elementary school.  She did, and I still have those photos to this day, ha!  Friends from school, don't be mad at me for posting!  You girls are still cute as ever!

Now, move forward to 30+ years...

From the time my son and daughter were born, I have always taken numerous pictures and created organized photo albums.  The only problem back then; I could not afford a nice camera but I never let it stop me.  There has always been a running joke in the family, "Oh no, here comes Kym with her camera she's going to make us pose".  You better believe it!  I always told my friends and family, "You will appreciate it one day".  You do now guys, right?  Right? ;)

Now, move forward to March of 2017...

I received a phone call in March from CPS telling me my niece, at the age of 11 months, was put into Foster Care.  Never had my heart ached so much.  I prayed for guidance.  I knew deep down in my heart I needed to take her under my faithful wings, but I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to do it since I haven't had young children in my home in a while, working full-time, financially affordable, and I certainly didn't know how my husband, Dave, was going to accept this challenge or what he would even think about having a baby in our home.  So, again I prayed and talked to my mom who 1 year earlier had passed away.  And, oh boy did I ever receive His guidance, that's a whole other story.  I had my answer and knew what I had to do.  On the night of March 31st, we had little Maddie in our safe and loving arms.  I have not looked back with any regret.  Maddie, from that moment, was in front of the camera almost every day.  I wanted to capture every sweet smile she had on that cute little face of hers to share with her mommy.  I didn't mention Maddie's daddy, because he passed away when she was 9 months old.  You see, I had FAITH, and knew she would be going back to mommy one day.  Today, Maddie's mommy is doing fantastic and will be reunited in about 1 month.  FAITH!!!!

Now, move forward to October 2017...

My husband and I attended the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas.  We have gone every year since it began in 2014.  But, this particular year in 2018 was quite different, as I think we all know.  The night of October 1st, we became helpless victims in what became one man's game of let's see how many country music fan, lovers I can hurt or kill.  By the grace of God, neither we nor our group of friends were killed; only shaken and terrified by what had happened.  My cowgirl boots are not only made for walking but R U N N I N G!  After that weekend, I really started reflecting on my life.  I was asking myself questions???  What matters most?  Why were you not one of the victims who died?  What do you want to be remembered for?  What is your passion?   A light bulb went on in a matter of weeks...  Faith Photography!!!!!  Why, because my faith in the life God has provided me has blessed me in so many wonderful ways.

We all have a story and I hope you enjoyed mine.  Now you know why I chose to become a Professional Photographer.  I want to help create your beautiful moments and let my lens speak!  My passion, PHOTOGRAPHY!  I want to be remembered for capturing your beautiful moments!  What matters most, my time here on earth with my family and friends!  Why did I survive, because He has a plan!  F A I T H!

Many blessings,

Kym Pirruccello
